Set your own tone range.

Contour first listens to a few seconds of your normal conversational speech and estimates the lower and upper part of the pitch range you naturally use. Every path is then fitted inside that range. You do not have to guess where a note should be.

Choose the phrase and path.

Type any phrase you want. Then choose Level, Rise, Fall, Wave, or Crest. The rings sit on that path. Speak normally and let the pitch contour of your phrase steer the glider.

Amplitude propels. Tone steers.

Any speech amplitude above the current room sound turns propulsion on. Quiet and loud speech move the glider forward at the same speed; volume never changes height or speed. Pitch alone sets the vertical steering target. Short consonant gaps are bridged so connected speech stays continuous.

Try it with less help.

In Follow the path, the target stays visible. In Remember it, preview the route before takeoff; the target and live scores are hidden during flight, then revealed afterward.

A speaking practice game, not a word test.

Contour measures speech activity and pitch. A hum or another pitched sound can still move the glider, and this build does not verify the words you said.

Comfort comes first. Use Gentle steering, larger rings, less of your range, or a wider path when needed. Do not force your voice. Path match describes this game target; it is not a fluency score or a treatment outcome.

What the game measures.

Your normal speaking-tone range.

During setup, Contour listens to about six seconds of your normal speech and collects stable pitch estimates. It uses robust lower and upper percentiles rather than asking you to hit a musical note. The selected flight path is scaled to a percentage of that observed range.

Amplitude is the throttle.

Contour continuously estimates the room floor and treats any clear rise above it as speech activity. Once speech is present, forward velocity is constant. Speaking louder does not make the glider move faster. Brief amplitude dips inside connected speech are held through; a longer interruption makes the aircraft hesitate and then stop.

Tone is the steering wheel.

Pitch never controls propulsion. Reliable pitch estimates are octave-corrected and median-filtered, then normalized inside your own speaking range. Ordinary inflections are compressed, larger changes progressively saturate, and the Steering sensitivity control determines how much of that signal becomes a flight command. The aircraft then eases toward the command with limited vertical speed and acceleration.

Speech interruptions become flight hesitations.

Very short phonetic gaps are ignored. A longer interruption after speech has started makes the aircraft decelerate and visibly shudder; a sustained pause brings it to a stop. This is an acoustic interruption cue, not a clinical claim that every pause is a stutter.

Path match and rings.

Each ring can be resized independently by clicking it in the preview. Ring size changes both the visible opening and that ring's local pass tolerance. For a level path, Path match is based on how much controlled pitch stays inside the band. For shaped paths, it also checks whether your detected contour moves in the same direction and shape as the target, so a flat tone cannot earn a high score on a rise, fall, wave, or crest. Rings check local sections of the band. Pitch coverage reports how much detected speech had a usable pitch estimate or a short bridged estimate.

No hidden clinical score.

The game does not identify stutters, measure muscle tension, infer anxiety, calculate PAD scores, or claim to measure brain activity. A higher path-match percentage means a closer match to this particular pitch target.

Local audio processing. Raw audio passes through short memory buffers and is discarded. It is not saved as a recording or uploaded. Replay is a pitch trace. Demonstrations are synthetic and never enter your flight log.
